Taco Fries are the perfect fusion of crispy fries topped with all the bold flavors of a taco. Loaded with seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and your favorite taco toppings, these fries make an excellent appetizer, snack, or even a main dish.

Ingredients

1 bag (32 oz) frozen French fries

1 lb ground beef

1 packet taco seasoning mix

2/3 cup water

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or Mexican cheese blend

1/2 cup chopped tomatoes

1/4 cup sliced green onions

1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)

1/4 cup sour cream

Fresh cilantro (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Cook the Fries:

Preheat your oven and bake the French fries according to the package instructions until they are crispy and golden brown. Alternatively, you can air fry them for a crispier texture.

Prepare the Taco Meat:

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until it is no longer pink, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.

Add the taco seasoning mix and water to the skillet, stirring to combine. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the mixture has thickened.

Assemble the Taco Fries:

Arrange the cooked French fries on a large serving platter or baking sheet.

Spoon the taco-seasoned beef over the fries, then sprinkle evenly with shredded cheese.

Place the fries under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Add Toppings:

Remove the fries from the oven and add your favorite toppings. Sprinkle with chopped tomatoes, green onions, and black olives if desired.

Drizzle with sour cream and garnish with fresh cilantro.

Serve:

Serve immediately with additional toppings like guacamole, salsa, or jalapeños if desired.

Tips

To make these loaded taco fries extra indulgent, add a layer of nacho cheese sauce before the shredded cheese.

Feel free to customize the toppings with what you love—pickled jalapeños, diced red onion, or even a drizzle of hot sauce can add an extra kick.
