Junk Yard Salad
Ingredients:
1 can (20 ounces) pineapple chunks, drained
1 can (15 ounces) mandarin oranges, drained
1 cup maraschino cherries, drained and halved
1 cup miniature marshmallows
1 cup colorful fruity cereal (like Trix or Fruity Pebbles)
1 container (8 ounces) whipped topping (such as Cool Whip)
1/4 cup sweetened shredded coconut (optional)
Colorful sprinkles for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Mix Fruit and Marshmallows: In a large mixing bowl, combine the pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, and maraschino cherries. Add the miniature marshmallows and gently mix.
Fold in Whipped Topping: Add the whipped topping to the fruit and marshmallow mixture. Carefully fold it in until everything is evenly coated and fluffy.
Add Fruity Cereal: Gently fold in the fruity cereal, mixing just enough to incorporate without crushing the cereal too much.
Optional Toppings: Sprinkle with shredded coconut and colorful sprinkles if desired to add extra color and texture.
Chill and Serve: Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to let the flavors meld together. Serve cold and enjoy!
This salad is perfect for parties, family gatherings, or as a fun dessert to brighten any occasion!
Why does the picture look like you have peas and carrots in the salad? What are the orange and green pieces?
