Wet Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 cup)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted (1 stick)
  • ½ cup brown sugar (for moisture & caramel notes)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt

Mix-Ins

  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips (or regular chips)

Optional Add-Ins:

  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • Sea salt sprinkle on top

Instructions

1. Prep & Preheat

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease an 8×8-inch pan or line with parchment paper.

2. Mash Bananas & Mix Wet Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, mash bananas until smooth.
  • Whisk in melted butter, sugars, egg, and vanilla.

3. Add Dry Ingredients

  • Sprinkle flour, baking soda, and salt over the wet mix.
  • Fold gently until just combined (don’t overmix!).

4. Fold in Chocolate Chips

  • Stir in mini chocolate chips (save a few for topping if desired).

5. Bake to Perfection

  • Spread batter evenly in the pan.
  • Bake 25–30 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.

6. Cool, Slice & Serve!

  • Cool 10 minutes in pan, then lift out and cut into squares.
